“Today was a moving class. I’m glad you did do grief, because I will truly miss the routine of seeing you and my new network. It has been joyous in my heart to have such a self healing class that would inspire me to look at my wounds. Love you always”

This program was one that I didn’t even know I needed but so glad I found it. I have learned techniques on how to better work on “ME”. So many times we tell ourselves we are ok all while falling apart inside silently. I believe that I have benefited from every tip, trick and suggestion provided to us from attending these sessions. Thank you again.

Participating in the Ten-Week Women’s Empowerment Group was a transformative experience for me. Surrounded by positive, like-minded women, I found a safe space to share my thoughts, emotions, and vulnerabilities. Through our collective support, we not only had fun but also gained valuable tools for personal growth. As I eagerly await the next session, I’m grateful for the empowerment and connections this group has brought into my life.”

Hello I first would like say Thank you for the opportunity that I was able to share with you and many during this program. I mentioned at the first meeting I was in and still is in a transitional period in my life and honestly just didn’t know which way to go. I say that to say this it was meant for me to across this program for women. I read the challenger often and always looking for ways to do something for me and or for my children always have, to help break up the dynamics of life, which from my standpoint can get hectic between work, school, activities and etc. When I say appreciate every aspect of this program from the engaging to the activities to the deliciousness of food given. I realize I will always be different and I accept that and I also realize we all are different and that’s okay as well. I had a brief moment at one session because it was simply how I felt we bottle so much as woman, people in general and that day was one of them where I let it out. I am not ashame nor did I feel at the moment what was thought of me. It was real. This program has help to put some pep in my step. That everything will be alright and there is light at end of the tunnel. #Grateful #Thankful

Me, Super Heroes. And Life Changing ADVICE! – As a community partner I presented in 2 Workshops on Exercise & Nutrition as part of a organization founded by my good friend Tamieka Johnson. This particular arm of the organization (EmpowHER) is designed to enhance the mental health of women using a holistic approach with methods that alleviate mental distress often due to trauma. It was born out of the massacre at Tops Market in Buffalo (my old neighborhood) on May 14, 2022. – Me and my team of real life Super Heroes (Latricia Oneil Marietta Knight-Bates and Robert Johnson) talked to the EmpowHER participants about the importance of diet and exercise, regardless of age or fitness level (never too late to start). They are living examples of excellent health and were way more popular than me! – I tried to focus Diabetes and how proper diet can decrease the chance of developing Diabetes (along with Cardiovascular Disease both of which are prevalent in the black community) and more importantly explaining how it’s possible to get off diabetic medications such as Metformin, Ozempic and sometimes Insulin by understanding nutrition/blood glucose levels. This can be truly life-changing and life-saving information. We had a great time and there are future workshops in the fall. I will keep you posted (maybe some of you can attend).

I joined the women’s empowerment group because I wanted to practice self-care for an extended period of time. Time enough for it to become a habit. The flyer for the program stated 10 weeks, it had interesting topics and group activities; like clay which I hadn’t done since I was a kid. And gardening which I am always interested in. Well, you know how things seem to workout, sometimes better than expected. By committing to the 10 weeks, I received clarity to questions which I have been seeking. Participating in the group also helped me to slow-down, listen, reflect and explore, AND using the daily meditations helped me integrate self-care into my daily routine. If you decide to take time out for yourself, I hope you enjoy and get as much as I did from the next group.
